- The International James Joyce Foundation was created in 1967 at
the First International James Joyce Symposium, held on Bloomsday--June
16--in Dublin. Its purposes are to encourage scholarship, criticism,
and study in regard to the life, work, and career of the writer whom
many regard as the preeminent figure in modern literature, and to
facilitate and coordinate ways in which scholars, critics, teachers,
students, and general readers may meet together, correspond with each
other, learn from one another, and help each other in achieving a
greater appreciation and understanding of his work; these purposes have
been carried out with increasing success.

her most famous.
- The primary focus of the Society is in the United Kingdom,
although members from around the world are welcomed (there are separate
societies in the USA, Korea, and Japan). Among its many activities, the
Society promotes the Annual TS Eliot Cambridge Lecture, and produces an
annual Journal. It also encourages local branches and local
meetings to enable as many members as possible to meet, to celebrate
and to promote T S Eliot and his works.
- Founded in 1980, the Society is an international association of
persons interested in the art and thought of T. S. Eliot. Our annual

closest to his September 26th birthday. Among other activities, the
meeting features the T. S. Eliot Memorial Lecture, given by an eminent
scholar or poet.
