The Institute for Canadian Music was established in the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto in 1984, at the same time as the Jean A. Chalmers Chair in Canadian Music. There are two articles by John Beckwith on the early projects and activities of the Institute for Canadian Music: 1988 (en français); 1990 (in English).
NB: The newsletter is currently not in production; the most recent issue is vol. 6, no. 1 (Jan. 2008). Online versions of past issues of the newsletter are available here.
