LLL is a non-profit educational program for retired individuals. Its current membership numbers over 1,300.

A volunteer Board of Directors manages LLL, ensuring that three, 10-week lecture series are offered twice a year in the winter and autumn. The fall 2017 lecture series to be held at Innis Colleger are `The Writers of the CanLit Boom`; `Humanity Challenged in War and Peace ` and `Art and The Making of the Modern World `. A fourth course has been added for fall 2017 to be held at Hot Docs, Ted Rogers Cinema 'MAKE 'EM LAUGH'. It costs $60 to attend a series.

LLL was established in 1981 when a number of individuals joined with the University of Toronto to form a group that sponsors university level courses for people in their retirement years.
