Q. What kind of a team do you envision? Would it be appropriate for a landscape architectural firm to be prime?
A. Under existing Ontario Association of Architects policy in any joint venture proposal between an Architect and Landscape Architect, the Architect should have responsibility for the overall coordination and administration of all consultants throughout the entire project.

THE UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO HAS NOW BEEN ADVISED BY THE ONTARIO ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTS THAT THE PROJECT DOES NOT CONTAIN ELEMENTS THAT WOULD SATISFY THE INTENT OF THE DEFINITION FOR BUILDING AND ACCORDINGLY, PROVIDED THERE IS NO BUILDING INVOLVED, AN ARCHITECT OR A LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT MAY BE PRIME.

8.0 Questions asked regarding RFP, issued May 23, 2000

Q. What background information is available - traffic counts, bicycle counts, pedestrian counts, frequency of tour buses and service vehicles? If unavailable, will we be expected to produce this information?
A. The University of Toronto has commissioned a traffic study which will be available to the winning team for design.

Q. Please confirm the page size for the proposal. The terms of reference state a limit to the number of pages but do not indicate a limit to the page size.
A. 8½x11"

Q. A Site Circulation Study is referred to in item 6.1. Has this study been done or is this to be undertaken by the consultant?
A. It has been completed.

Q. Is a traffic/transportation consultant required to undertake this study and if so should this consultant be named at this stage?
A. No.

Q. Has a construction budget been estimated for Phase III?
A. Not at this time.

Q. Will there be a requirement for public art and if so will it follow the City Public Art Approval process?
A. No.

Q. Has the University established target dates for the design and construction phases?
A. The proposal asks the team to provide a schedule for the project.

Q. Was this RFP mailed to a list of firms?
A. No.

Q. Does the $4.3 million Canadian include consultant fees?
A. Yes.

Q. Are you open to non-local teams participating if they have a local association?
A. Yes.

Q. Is it appropriate for the non-local team member to be prime?
A. This is up to the team to decide.
