CSI Pain Across The Ages









What: This 5-day program includes high-intensity lectures, panel discussions, small group work, and interactive workshops, with a Scientific Meeting on the 5th day. Topics will include basic science research examining factors that influence pain processing and perception, clinical pain research focused on interpersonal variability in chronic pain, and clinical precision pain management. A knowledge translation thread will be woven throughout, with discussions on how to use the results of research to impact policy, practice, and knowledge building.

The Institute aims to:

  • a) foster research excellence and interprofessional collaboration;
  • b) provide a stimulating environment for research training; and
  • c) develop a diversified base of high-quality researchers, who will know how to translate their research outcomes into improved pain relief worldwide.

When: July 15-19, 2019

Where: Massey college Toronto Ontario

Who: In order to allow for increased engagement, participation is limited to 30 national and international graduate students, post doctoral fellows and clinical trainees. Tuition is free. Funding of up to $1000 (based on distance from Toronto) will be given to 10 trainees from outside Ontario and Canada for travel and accommodation expenses.

Application process: Trainee applications will be rated based on a reference from their supervisor, brief CV, and a short abstract describing their research. Trainees will be allowed to participate in a maximum of 2 Institutes. Please send application to Nancy Mitchell.
