Quality of life of persons with developmental disabilities is receiving increasing attention in the literature which usually emphasizes its conceptual aspects. However, these concepts need to be linked to service provision applications so that they can practically benefit persons with developmental disabilities. This article describes one conceptual approach and presents guidelines for applying it to assessing quality of life as well as to planning and evaluating intervention that supports and enhances the quality of life of persons with developmental disabilities.
