LLEWELLYN WINS JUMP EVENT

Jaret Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB)  won his first pro tour jump title of the
season in Portland this weekend.  Llewellyn soared to first place with a
jump of 60 metres (197 feet).  John Swanson placed second with a distance of
59.1 metres (194 feet), followed by world record holder Bruce Neville in
third with a jump of 58.5 metres (192 feet).  Jim Clunie (Tisdale, SK)
placed eleventh with a jump of 53.3 metres (175 feet).

In men's wakeboarding, Darin Shapiro (USA) scored of 21565 points, taking
first place and giving him the overall season title over Jeremy Kovak
(Millgrove, ON).  Kovak failed to qualify for the finals due to a fall
during his second pass and placed eighteenth with 15988 points.   Jeff Heer
(Richmond, BC) placed fifteenth with a score of 16930.

Slalom skier Drew Ross (Belleville, ON) qualified for the semi-finals,
rounding 4 buoys at an 11.25 metre line (52 buoys).  In the semis, Ross
scored 6 buoys at a 14.25 metre line, placing him in tenth position.  Carl
Roberge (USA) won the slalom event in a run-off against Kris Lapoint, with a
score of 5 buoys at an 11.25 metre line (53 buoys).
