KOVAK WINS SECOND STRAIGHT PRO TOUR

For the second week in a row, Canada's Jeremy Kovak (Millgrove, ON) took
first place in the men's wakeboarding finals at this weekend's Cafe de
Colombia Water Ski World Cup and Wakeboard Series today in Indianapolis,
Indiana.  Kovak scored 21960 points, ahead of defending 1996 Tour champion
Parks Bonifay (USA) who placed second with 21414 points.  Kovak's win
continues his dominance in the 1997 points standings.  

Kreg Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB) placed 7th in the men's jump finals with a
distance of 55.8 metres (183 feet).  Llewellyn previoulsy jumped 58.8 metres
(193 feet) in the semi-finals. Canadian jumpers Jim Clunie (Tisdale, SK)
placed 8th and Jaret Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB) was 10th with respective
jumps of 58.8 metres (193 feet) and 56.0 metres (184 feet).  Winning the
men's jump final for the second week in a row was Bruce Neville (AUS) with a
jump of  61.9 metres (203 feet) followed closely by Curtis Sheers, also from
Australia. who was 2nd with a distance of 61.6 metres (202 feet).

THIS NEXT EVENT IN 1997 CAFE DE COLOMBIA WATER SKI WORLD CUP SERIES WILL BE
HOSTED IN ORANGEVILLE, ONTARIO, CANADA JULY 26-27, 1997. EVENTS WILL BE
MEN'S JUMP, WOMEN'S SLALOM & MEN'S WAKEBOARD.
