CANADIAN SKIERS COMPETE AT ARENA MASTERS

The Cafe de Colombia Water Ski World Cup stopped in Italy this past weekend
for the Arena Masters.   Three Canadian skiers competed in the event.   

In the women's slalom, Susi Graham (Kitchener, Ontario) battled windy
conditions, scoring .5 buoys at a 12 metre line (42.5 buoys) to finish in
third place.  France's Geraldine Jamin placed first with a run of 3 buoys at
a 12 metre line (45 buoys).  

Canadian jumpers Jim Clunie (Tisdale, SK) and Jaret Llewellyn (Innisfail,
AB) placed fifth and seventh respectively in the men's jump final.  Clunie
jumped a distance of  61.3 metres (201 feet) while Llewellyn jumped 60
metres (197 feet).  Winning the men's jump final was Scot Ellis (USA) with a
jump of 66.4 metres (218 feet). 

Llewellyn also competed in the night jumping event, which he won with a jump
of 58.9 metres (193 feet).
   
The next stop on the Cafe de Colombia Ski tour will be in Hartford, CT.,
USA, July 12 - 13, 1997.
