CANADIAN SKIERS HIT THE WATER AT WORLDS


The Canadians took to the water today at the World Water Ski Championships
in Medellin, Colombia.  Two Canadians were scheduled to compete today.

Kim de Macedo (Shawnigan Lake, BC) competed in the preliminary rounds of the
women's trick and jump events.   Kim's trick score was 5400 points while she
soared 38.2 metres in the jump event.  More preliminary rounds for these
events will run on Thursday and Friday, with the finals being scheduled for
Saturday (women's jump) and Sunday (women's tricks).   

Jaret Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB) competed in the preliminary round of the
men's slalom, rounding 2 buoys at an 11.25 metre line (50 buoys).
Preliminary rounds for men's slalom continue tomorrow, and the final will be
run on Sunday.
