CANADIAN JUMPERS SOAR TO FINALS


The Canadian Water Ski Team is still in the hunt for the team title at the
World Water Ski Championships in Medellin, Colombia.

The preliminary rounds of the men's jump event were held today, with three
Canadians competing.  Jaret Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB) had the best jump of
the day, qualifying for the finals with an incredible distance of 64.6
metres.  Jim Clunie (Tisdale, SK) also qualified for the finals, soaring a
distance of 59.8 metres.  Recovering from a bad fall during his second jump,
Kreg Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB) put in a solid jump of 56.3 metres.  The
finals for the jump event will be held on Sunday afternoon.

Yesterday's action ended with the men's trick event.  Both Kreg and Jaret
Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB) competed.  Kreg skied two awesome passes, scoring
9880 points and earning him a spot in the tomorrow's finals.  Jaret skied
and excellent first pass, but had an unfortunate fall during his second
pass, scoring 5740 points total.
