RECORDS CONTINUE TO FALL

Junior skier Aaron Rathy (BC) continued his Canadian record quest in
the Boys 1 division. He set his THIRD CANADIAN RECORD (and third gold
medal) at the 1998 Canadian National Water Ski Championships. His
trick score of 3310 points by far exceeded the previous record of
2000 points. His slalom score of 5 buoys at a 13.00 metre rope length
(65 buoys) was also a Canadian record. Aaron also set a new Boys 1
jump record yesterday with a distance of 26.1 metres.

It's a Family Affair !!!
J.D. McClintock (ON) set a new Boys 2 slalom record when he took the
gold medal with a performance of 2 buoys at a 13.00 metre line (50
buoys). J.D.'s cousin, Jason McClintock (ON), doubled his gold medals
this week by winning the trick event with a score of 2410 points.
Jason wins the Overall title with a total point score of 2890 points,
with J.D. not far behind with 2648 points. Jason's younger sister
Whitney won her third gold medal with a 1290 point performance in the
Girls 1 trick event. This also gives the Whitney the Girls 1 overall
title.

Local skier Lyndsey Horton (NS) won the Girls 3 overall title with a
silver medal performance in the trick event (2420 points). Teammate
Kelley D'Entremont won the trick event with 2770 points.

BC Team skier, Kim de Macedo, also member of Canada's National Team,
won her third gold medal in the Women 2 division with a slalom
performance of 4.5 buoys at a 13 metre rope (52.50 buoys). This
secures De Macedo's quest for the overall title.

Other notables:
Ashley Keindel (ON) won the Women 1 jump with a distance 39.8
metres. Bruce Dodd (AB) won the Men 2 tricks with 5430 points.
