RECORDS FALL AT PAN AM GAMES SITE

Canadian "Air Force" soars !!!!	TWO Canadian Records set	10 Canadians
qualify for jump finals

Karissa Wedd (Vancouver, BC) set a new CANADIAN JUMP RECORD in the 
Junior Girls event. Water Ski Canada officials announced that her 
distance of 37.4 metres (123 feet) sets the new mark in the Girls 3 
division. Her performance puts her in 1st place heading into the 
Junior Girls jump finals. Brooke Osis (Lac du Bonnet, MB) is 
currently in 3rd place with a distance of 32.1. Lindsey Trapp (USA) 
is in second place with a score of 36.9 metres.

Jeff McClintock (Cambridge, ON) jump of 46.3 metres (152 feet) puts 
him 2nd place after the Veteran Men jump preliminaries while setting 
a CANADIAN RECORD in the Men 3 division. Larry Gisler (Chile) is in 
1st place with a jump of 46.6 metres. Mark Stevens (Morrisburg, ON) 
and Gerry Whittaker (Kelowna, BC) are in 5th and 6th places 
respectively.

In the Women's 17-21 division, Canadian skiers continue to take top 
spots Dallas Harrop (Onoway, AB) sits in a tie for first with a score 
of 37.4 metres. Tricia Anderson (Victoria, BC) qualified for the 
finals by placing fourth with a distance of 36.1 metres. In the men's 
event, Anthony Boswell (Arnprior, ON) qualified with a fifth place 
finish (48.1 metres).

Junior Team members Ryan Dobel (Winnipeg, MB) and Jimmy Townsend
(Belleville, ON) both qualified for the junior boys jump final with 
scores of 43.0 metres (third place) and 42.4 metres (fifth place) 
respectively.

7 1ST & 2nd IN SLALOM
Tom Muir (Hamilton, ON) sits in top spot heading in to the Men's Open
slalom final with a score of 51.50 buoys. Canadian National Team 
rookie Clint Baikie (Campbell River, BC) put in a performance he'll 
never forget (51.00 buoys) which currently has him closely behind 
Muir, in a tie for second place with U.S. skier Ron Thompson. Also 
qualifying for the men's slalom final is Kreg Llewellyn (Innisfail, 
AB) who currently sits in a three way tie for 4th place (50.00 buoys).

Canadian women Kim de Macedo (Shawnigan Lake, BC) and Marie-Helene 
Lanthier (Montreal, PQ)  put in some strong skiing placing 3rd and 
7th respectively. Both qualify for Sunday's finals. April Coble (USA) 
is currently in first followed by Marianna Ramirez of Mexico.
