LLEWELLYN WINS IN ABU DHABI

Water skiing is making its mark world-wide.   Abu Dhabi (the capital 
city of the United Arab Emirates) hosted its first ever International 
Jump Tournament this week, held in conjunction with the Formula One 
Powerboat Race.  

Many of the world's best jumpers were invited to the event, including
Canadian Jaret Llewellyn and Australian Bruce Neville, who placed 
first and second respectively in the jump event of the 1998 Cafe de 
Colombia Water Ski World Cup.
 Jaret Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB)  won the Abu Dhabi jump event, 
soaring a distance of 61.6 metres (202 feet).   Close behind was 
Bruce Neville (AUS) with a jump of 61.0 metres (200 feet).  Placing 
third was Scot Ellis (USA) with a distance of 60.7 metres (199 feet).
