Canadians Claim US Masters Titles

Canadian slalom skier Susi Graham (Kitchener, ON) claimed her second
consecutive US Masters title this weekend in Pine Moutain, Georgia.  
Graham won the event with a run of 3.25 buoys at an 11.25 metre line 
(51.25 buoys). Placing second was Jennifer Leachman (USA) with a 
score of 3 buoys at an 11.25 metre line (51 buoys).

Jaret Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB) flew 61.4 metres (201 feet) to 
capture the men's jump title.  Scott Smith (USA) placed second with a 
jump of 60.1 metres (197 feet).  Canadian Kreg Llewellyn (Innisfail, 
AB) place 5th with a distance of 57.1 metres (187 feet).  

The men's overall proved to be an exciting event.  Patrice Martin 
(FRA) won the event, followed closely by Canadian Jaret Llewellyn in 
second place. Kreg Llewellyn placed 5th in the overall event.

In the Junior Masters, Clint Baikie (Campbell River, BC) soared to a 
second place finish.  Clint's jump of 50.3 meters (165 ft.) was less 
than a metre shy of first place finisher Dana Hinman of the USA who 
won the jump title with a 50.6 metres (166 ft.) jump.

In the junior women's division Ashley Keindel (Toronto, ON) placed 
third in the jump event with a distance of 35.7 meters (117 ft.). The 
event was won by Susie Lohr (USA) with a jump of 41.2 meters (135 
ft.).

The Masters Water Ski Tournament is considered the most prestigious 
water ski tournament in the world. The Masters invite only an elite 
field of world class skiers, ensuring incredible results.
