LLEWELLYN & GRAHAM WIN WORLD CUP TITLES

In the final World Cup stop this weekend in Italy, Canadian water
skiers Jaret Llewellyn (Innisfail, AB) and Susi Graham (Kitchener,
ON) captured their respective World Cup Titles.
Susi Graham placed second in the women's slalom event with a run of
2.5 buoys at a 12 metre line (44.5 buoys). This result confirmed
Susi as the World Cup Slalom Champion (461 points) for the second
year in a row. Toni Neville (AUS) placed second with 335 points.

In the men's jump event, Jaret Llewellyn jumped a distance of 59.1
metres, placing third behind American Freddy Krueger (60.2 metres)
and Australian Bruce Neville (59.9 metres). With this result, Jaret
maintained his lead in the standings and was crowned the 1998 World
Cup Jump Champion. Llewellyn, who also won the World Cup in 1996 said,
"This was the tightest World Cup jump race to date. All the
jumpers remained at the top of their game to keep it close at each
tour stop. I am very thankful I was able to win for Canada and my
sponsors."

Llewellyn also competed in the night jump event, soaring a distance
of 57 metres and placing second behind Bruce Neville (58 metres). To
add to his successful weekend, Jaret won the men's trick event with
9650 points.

Also competing at this weekend's competition was Canadian jumper Jim
Clunie (Tisdale, SK). Although Clunie failed to qualify for the jump
finals, he captured 9th place in the World Cup standings.
