Information for Prospective Mirror Site Hosts
A mirror site is a Web site that contains a duplicate
copy of Web material. In the case of this HTML material, a mirror
would contain a duplicate copy of this packages of HTML
documentation. Pretty simple,eh? However, to be a mirror site
you must also:
- have a place on a Web server where you can place the
HTML documents (less than 1 MB of HTML and images files)
- be willing to make the material publicly accessible
to anyone on the Internet. Thus, once the mirror is installed,
you will need to send me the URL for the site so I can add it
to the list of mirror sites.
- be willing to update the online material when new update
packages are available
- give me the name and email address of the people who will be
managing the mirror site (probably you!) so I can mail you when
there are updates.
If this sounds reasonable to you, then great! Just send me email
at <ian.graham@utoronto.ca>, so that we can arrange to set
things up.
