About Us

WOMEN IN JUDAISM: A MULTIDISCIPLINARY JOURNAL is an academic, refereed journal published exclusively on the Internet, and devoted to scholarly debate on gender-related issues in Judaism. The ultimate aim of the journal is to promote the reconceptualization of the study of Judaism, by acknowledging and incorporating the roles played by women, and by encouraging the development of alternative research paradigms. Cross-methodological and interdisciplinary, the journal does not promote a fixed ideology, and welcomes a variety of approaches.

WOMEN IN JUDAISM: CONTEMPORARY WRITINGS is a collection of non-refereed articles featuring new Midrash, essays and fiction on contemporary Jewish issues.

WOMEN IN JUDAISM: ENCYCLOPEDIA is an electronic reference tool for general readers, scholars and students. The entries are organized chronologically and thematically, dealing with Jewish women in biblical, post-biblical, medieval, and modern times.

Women in Judaism: A Multidisciplinary Journal is an independent, free, full-text, refereed e-journal, available exclusively on the Web. We do not have subscription fees, nor do we intend to have them in the future.
