About Us

Charlie Boone joined the Banting and Best Department of Medical Research at the University of Toronto in July 2000.

The Boone Lab is situated on the 13 th floor of the Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research, a multidisciplinary research institute involving several different faculties within the University of Toronto.

We have an open concept lab that is shared with researchers Brenda Andrews and Tim Hughes, this format allows us to work efficiently on a number of collaborative projects.

In particular, our project for global mapping of genetic interactions in yeast is carried out as a joint collaboration with the Andrews Lab and thus many of the people and the projects described on this site are collaborative efforts.

In the SGA technology of this website we describe the robotics and methods developed by our group for manipulating high density yeast arrays and automating yeast genetic analysis.

We are always interested in receiving applications from both experimentalists and computational scientists interested in functional genomics.
