Andrea Cohen Appointed ED of Lawrence Heights CHC

Andrea Cohen (MHSc, Class of '02) has been appointed as Executive Director of the Lawrence Heights Community Health Centre and Board President of Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada (PPFC). Andrea joined the PPFC Board as Regional representative for Ontario in November of 2000. She has also served on the Planned Parenthood Waterloo Region board as both a member at large, and as president.


Rosalind Smith Appointed VP of OHA

In March 2004 Rosalind (Roz) Smith (MHSc, Class of ‘82) assumed the position of Vice President, Member and Professional Relations at the Ontario Hospital Association. In this capacity, and in partnership with representatives from hospitals, government and other organizations, Roz pursues advocacy and leadership strategies on a broad range of issues including:

In addition to working at the OHA for many years, Roz has previously been a Director at the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and has held senior management responsibilities at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough , as well as at the Montreal General Hospital .


Mary Jo Haddad Appointed CEO of Sick Kids

The Hospital for Sick Children announced in November that Mary Jo Haddad has been appointed President and CEO. Ms. Haddad has held the position of interim President and CEO since July 2004. “After an international search for our new CEO, Mary Jo was the unanimous choice of the search committee whose recommendation was unanimously ratified by the entire Board,” said Mr. Bruce Richmond, chair of the search committee and vice-chair and chair designate of the Board of Trustees. “Mary Jo is an outstanding leader. She has the full support of our medical executives and commands the respect of everyone in the hospital,” said David Galloway, chairman of the Board of Trustees. Ms. Haddad is Adjunct Lecturer and alumnus (class of ’98) of the department of HPME.
