Knowing is not enough: Re-inventing child health services research
Dr. Lisa Simpson, MD, BCh, MPH, FAAP

Dr. Simpson will discuss key strategies to ensure the future success of child health services research, including meeting the information needs of policymakers and healthcare system leaders, capitalizing on the ever growing sources of data, engaging communities, families and patients in new ways, training and supporting a diverse cadre of researchers, and engaging globally.
Dr. Simpson is the president and CEO of AcademyHealth, a leading national organization serving the fields of health services and policy research, and the professionals who produce and use this important work. A nationally recognized health policy researcher and pediatrician, Dr. Simpson is a passionate advocate for the translation of research into policy and practice. Dr. Simpson's research focuses on improving the performance of the health care system and includes studies of the quality and safety of care, the role of health information technology in improving the quality of care, health and health care disparities and the health policy and system response to childhood obesity.
