Assistant Research Manager

Part-time (0.6FTE)

We are seeking a part-time (0.6FTE) Assistant Research Manager.  The successful applicant will join the research team to provide support on several major international trials as well as to develop and maintain CMICR research procedures.

Primary responsibilities include overseeing the conduct of several research studies following the initial study start-up phase.  Overseeing the collection, entry, verification, and reporting of data to ensure quality.  Input into monitoring patient accrual and protocol adherence.  Provide ongoing support to project staff to provide solutions to problems as they may arise, manage work distribution, and to provide assistance in editing and proofing material prior to distribution.  Be available to assist trial staff with work during periods of increased levels of activity or during times of vacation/leave/illness.  Review current CMICR standard operating procedures and other research procedures while assisting with the development of new ones as needed.  Limited on-call pager responsibilities are required.  Future responsibilities may include assisting during the study start-up phase and participation in study development.

Candidates should have a Master’s degree and at least 7 years of experience (particularly in the management of multicentre clinical trials).  SoCRA certification, or the equivalent, is an asset.  Demonstrated expertise in research procedures is essential, as is familiarity with ICH/GCP and other regulatory material.  The successful applicant must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; have strong writing and editing skills; be able to communicate easily and successfully; be able to remain calm under pressure; and be able to meet deadlines while paying meticulous attention to detail.
