The tracking function is responsible for handling the additions, deletions and changes to the various electronic mail service databases and configuration options for each client. This function is made available to the local electronic mail administrator through the administrative agent. It is the responsibility of the local electronic mail administrator to track the necessary information that the service needs for correct operation for each of the affiliated clients. An important feature of this function is that it should not require any paper forms or other non-electronic forms, thereby minimizing the load on the local electronic mail administrator, and increasing the response time of the system.
