Roland Le Huenen is Professor of French and Comparative Literature at the University of Toronto. He is the Director of the Centre for Comparative Literature. His areas of interest are: I. Textual and methodological
criticism; II. Narratology, as well as narrative and textual poetics and semiotics; III. Historical novel: Balzac, Baudelaire, Gobineau. IV. Voyage tale: Balzac. Professor Le Huenen is the author of numerous
books among which Contes, récits et légendes des Iles Saint-Pierre et Miquelon (1985; Les Éditions d'Acadie, 1994), and co-authored others such as Balzac, sémiotique du personnage romanesque: l'exemple
d'"Eugénie Grandet" (Presses de l'Université de Montréal/Didier Erudition, 1980) with Prof. Perron. He edited several volumes such as Le narratif hors de soi Texte (University of Toronto, 1997), and Discourse
on Voyages to the New World/Discours du voyage au Nouveau-Monde in L'Esprit Créateur xxx.3 (automne 1990). Professor Le Huenen published extensively in learned journals and edited volumes.
