Since its founding, the Society for Utopian Studies has been involved with the publication of two journals, a book series, a special issue of the Journal of General Education, a volume published by Indiana University of Pennsylvania, the Directory of Utopian Scholars, and the Society's newsletter Utopus Discovered.

Founded in 1988 and edited by Nicole Pohl, Utopian Studies is a biannual journal publishing scholarly articles on a wide range of subjects related to utopias, utopianism, utopian literature, utopian theory, and intentional communities. Each issue also includes dozens of reviews of recent books. Back issues may be purchased directly from the journal offices:
