Goals

The service goals that the design of the institutional electronic mail service must addressgif are that it be:

Available
The service must exist from a service provider.
Advertised
The service must be widely known to exist, preferably due to announcements in a public forum.
Accessible
Customers can get the service easily, in their own environment from a well known service provider.
Ubiquitous
The service must provide the potential for coverage across all staff, faculty, and students at the University, from all locations within and without.
Reliable
The service can be counted on for use in a predictable, business-oriented, day to day manner.
Supported
The service must be designed to address in some well defined and supported form all facets of the support question, such as:
