Why do I need to configure? Why is login required? (It's annoying)


The TSJr uses the UToronto network for internet, and that always needs UofT login. Configuring takes care of that.

Even without the internet, login allows us to keep the projectors in use for academic purposes only. It also allows us to track hours of usage so we can predict (and prevent) bulb failure and perform regular maintenance.

Think of it like campus wireless internet:
The configuring is similar (it's the same type of network, called 802.1x);
it's an unfortunate hassle that afterwards gives you unhindered access to campus academic services or equipment.
