Annual Recognition Dinner – October 16
It's that time of year again – a time to celebrate accomplishments, renew acquaintanceships, and catch up on the latest trends in healthcare. Clinical Epidemiology Fall Institute – November 12-16
Evidence-based decision-making has become a routine expectation among health policymakers, managers and practitioners. Yet, interpreting and assessing health research requires a new set of skills. The first annual Clinical Epidemiology Fall Institute is a 5-day intensive program that will introduce clinicians, decision-makers and novice researchers to the fundamentals of research methodology and the practical skills of critical appraisal. Registration for the 2007 Fall Institute is currently full, but you can register for the wait list.
HPME Knowledge Translation Seminar Series 2007-2008
This year's star line-up for the HPME Knowledge Translation Seminar Series includes scholars at the forefront of knowledge translation research from across Canada. Pascale Lehoux (Université de Montréal) brings her expertise in technology assessment; translating research into health policy is the specialty of John Lavis (McMaster University); Dave Davis (Association of American Medical Colleges) and Merrick Zwarenstein (ICES) provide a clinical perspective on KT; while Ann Langley (Université du Québec à Montréal), Francois Champagne (Université de Montréal) and Carole Estabrooks (University of Alberta) explore the use of knowledge in health care settings.
Seminars for the Fall session are held on Thursdays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in Room 610 of the Health Sciences Building, 155 College Street. The complete schedule is available on the HPME website.
