A monthly series in which speakers from outside the Toronto community who have made major contributions to molecular medicine are invited to present their work. Each lecture is co-sponsored by the Genetics & Genome Biology Program at SickKids and one of the host departments or participating hospital research institutes.
This lecture series was initiated with the beginning of the Molecular Medicine Program at U of T in 1998. Recent speakers in the Molecular Medicine Program’s lecture series have included Louis Kunkel (Harvard), Peter Lichter (German Cancer Research Center/Heidelberg), Edward Rubin (Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory), David Cox (Stanford), Robert Nussbaum (NHGRI/NIH), Carolyn Brown (UBC), Ulrike Heberlein (UCSF), Guy Rouleau (Montreal Children’s Hospital/McGill) and Philip Hanawalt (Stanford). We expect future speakers to be of similar caliber and to represent the full breadth of disciplines encompassed by molecular medicine. |
