Details about Accommodation

COST OF OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION: $ 160 + 10% GST AND PST (TOTAL: $176) PER NIGHT 

Very comfortable and affordable accommodation is available on-site – where classes are held – at the BMO Institute for Learning. Rate includes the following: 

  • a comfortable single room, with full amenities
  • a full (and delicious!) breakfast
  • a full (and delicious!) supper
  • free parking
  • use of pool and fitness facilities
Please note: Onsite guestrooms at the IFL are Single occupancy. If you require alternate arrangements, please contact our Reservations Department (416) 490-4300, and they will be happy to make alternate arrangements for you.

Please register for overnight accommodation directly with IFL. You can download the form here and send to IFL by fax, email or Canada Post.

Check-in is after 3 p.m.
(NB: Participants can store luggage in safe location if arriving earlier than 3 p.m. Please request this service of Summer School Coordinator at Conference Desk upon arrival.)

Check-out is at 12 noon
(NB: Participants can store luggage in safe location if leaving after 12 noon. Please request this service of Summer School Coordinator at Conference desk upon signing out of facility.)

Additional Details

  • Rooms are equipped for one person only
  • Children are not permitted on facilities
  • No smoking is permitted on facilities
  • Barrier-free rooms are available upon request on registration form.

General Information about the Facilities

Smoking
The Institute for Learning is a smoke-free environment. Smoking areas are the Courtyard and The English Garden.

Valuables Protection
Safe deposit boxes are available at the Front Desk. The IFL is not responsible for valuables left in your guestroom. Inquiries regarding lost and found items should be directed to the Front Desk.

Gratuities
IFL associates are as attentive as they are friendly. Guest comfort is their concern, and tipping is not required.

Monday – Sunday Anytime after 3:00pm (rooms may be available earlier)

Standard Check-Out Times

Monday – Sunday By 1:00 p.m.

All guestrooms are equipped with wireless internet.

All guestrooms are equipped with:
• electronic card key system
• double bed with 2 bedside tables and a wall mounted lamp above each
• AM / FM clock radio
• telephone with voicemail messaging
• 4 cup coffee maker
• desk, chair, desk lamp, waste paper basket, push pin board
• wireless internet
• windows that open (except for first floor non-courtyard rooms for safety reasons)
• armchair with ottoman, coffee table, floor lamp
• 21" colour television with remote control and stand (closed captioning available)
• luggage stand
• closet with full length mirror
• iron, ironing board (*ironing board not standard in barrier free rooms, see note below)
• bathroom with hair dryer, ice bucket and glasses
• self-controlled heating and air conditioning unit


Barrier Free Rooms
*Although barrier free rooms are not equipped with an ironing board, one can be made available through the front office should it be required. All the items listed above are available in the barrier free rooms as well as:
• electronic curtains
• wall mounted fire light indicator

Hearing Impaired Guests

One barrier free room can be equipped with the following: a doorbell that when pressed, will signal a light to come on inside the guestrooms and thus notify you that there is someone at the door; a disk which can be placed between the mattress and the box spring so that when set, will shake the bed to attempt to wake you up like an alarm clock would; and a telephone TTY device.

Dining Hall

Our Dining Hall was modeled after Hart House at University of Toronto and offers complete meals service Sunday evening through Friday afternoon. During the evening, the Social Centre offers hot and cold beverages and bar snacks. Should your event take place on a weekend, the Dining Hall will be open for your desired times.

Laundry Service
Valet Laundry/Dry Cleaning slips are located in your room. Laundry brought to the Front Desk by 8:00 am will be returned the same day. Charges will be added to your room account and are settled at time of check-out.

A clothes washer and a dryer are available for your personal use in the Laundry area at no cost should you prefer to do your own laundry. Detergent and fabric softener are available.

Please note: Accommodation must be reserved and paid for at the same time as program registration. There is a limit to the number of rooms available and they are available on a first-reserve, first serve basis. Should all rooms be booked, alternate facilities are available to participants, off-site, at a higher cost.

For those who would prefer to share accommodation or to bring children, alternate hotel arrangements may be made, however they must be made by the registrant. Registrants staying at outside accommodation will be charged for breakfasts and suppers (not for lunch) when eating at the BMO IFL. The price of breakfast is $15 and the price of supper is $30.

Coupons for meals can be purchased from the HPSS Coordinator as needed at the registration desk. The Holiday Inn Suites in Markham (905-474-0444) is the closest to the site (at Woodbine and Steeles, a 2-minute drive).
