Community Care Research Network Launched

Dr. Paul Williams, lead investigator of the study, “From Hospital to Home and Community: Analyzing Local Realities and Global Logics”, is an authority on the effects of health care restructuring on nonprofit health sector organizations that provide home care. He has been the driving force behind the development of a new research network that brings together researchers, community service providers, consumers and policymakers to advance the research agenda in community care and translate this knowledge into practice.

The Canadian Research Network for Care in the Community (CRNCC) was launched at a two-day symposium on health care restructuring and the role of community services in the continuum of care in March 2005 in Toronto . Since then, over 100 individuals and organizations have joined the CRNCC. The network is based out of HPME and supported by the Medicare to Home and Community Care (M-THAC) Research Unit. To become a member and subscribe to the CRNCC e-newsletter, please contact the coordinator at crncc@utoronto.ca.
